TDCTE Business Meeting Minutes
February 10, 2020
Scarritt Bennett Center, Nashville, TN
Renny Whittenbarger called the meeting to order.
Bill Moss provided the Treasurer’s report.
Clark Knight moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented and Richard Skipper provided the second. Motion carried.
The Secretary’s report was available on the tables. Renny called for members to review and for a motion to accept the minutes. Steve Gibson moved to accept and Bill Moss seconded the motion. Motion carried.
New Business:
New CTE Introductions: Monroe County and CMCSS-Clarksville Montgomery
Report was given on the Legislative Breakfast on February 11, 2020 at 7:00am. Governor Bill Lee and Commissioner Dr. Penny Schwinn will be guest speakers. Slideshow featuring CTE programs from around Tennessee is completed. Kudos were given to Arlette Robinson for completing the slideshow.
Renny Whittenbarger provided dates for upcoming Meetings:
Spring – April 23 and 24. 2020 at the Sevierville Convention Center further information will be forthcoming.
Legislative Update was given by Bill Moss. Mr. Moss outlined upcoming bills HB2504, 2509, SB 1953/HB1937 Career Aptitude Assessment.
TACTE Update was given by Clark Knight: Clark discussed the Award Winners for the Pioneer and Trailblazer moving to the National Awards. This year’s nominations are due in April. Clark also discussed the National Vision in Tennessee in 2020, Perkins PD may be used, so may want to add to your Perkins Plan.
Bill Moss presented the pollution report with NO FINES. Renny fined Bill Moss $5 for retiring (effective June 30, 2020).
