Spring Meeting will be Virtual!

We are pleased to announce that the Spring CTE Director Meeting has been converted to a virtual meeting. To maximize our time together and enhance engagement, we will be presenting the meeting content across three days, June 2-4. We will utilize this time to continue working through Perkins V.

The virtual meeting will take place June 2-4, 2020 from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. CST daily. You may view the agenda on the event website.

Registration will close on May 26 at 5 p.m. CST.

PD Opportunity: Work Based Learning Conference in Georgia

As we transition to Perkins V, Work-Based Learning and Effective Advisory Committees will play a major role in our work.  We can learn much from others including best practices, demonstrations, and collaborative opportunities. Southeast TN

Tennessee Manufacturing Association Roadshow comes to Cleveland, TN

CTE Directors in Southeast, TN were invited to see the state of manufacturing in Tennessee.  Chattanooga and Cleveland were the locations for the presentation by Denise Rice, Director of TMA.  In Cleveland, Resolute Forestry Products hosted the roadshow which outlined employer needs for a trained workforce, workforce data, information about the Industrial Internet of Things and Industrial Revolution 4.0.  After viewing the program, CTE Directors recognize Career and Technical Education programs are needed now more than ever training students for the jobs of the future, preparing a pipeline of skilled workers.

Perkins Plan Ready. Southeast Study Council Tours in Sequatchie County and Reviews Plan Application









CTE Directors of Southeast Tennessee spend the day working with Taffe Bishop, CTE Core Consultant, and Sarah Williams, Talent Improvement TN DOE, on the Perkins V Transitional Plan.


Innovative practices in Project Based Learning in Agriculture were featured in hydroculture and plant science.  Tour also included Mechatronics Program of Study and Advanced Manufacturing with affordable virtual welders from Reality works, Health Science Anatomy and Physiology with cadaver study materials through the textbook used in Sequatchie County, and Maintenance and Light Repair class in action working on cars and electronics.

The meeting will take place on April 25-26, 2019 at the Fairfield Glade Community Club in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee.

Career Technical Education Spring Meeting time is here.  CTE directors attending the spring meeting will have the opportunity to participate in industry presentations. The industry presentations will feature multiple career clusters and will be coupled with an interactive lesson application. Additional information about industry presentations will be available in the coming weeks.
